Thorsten Poersch

As a child of the Ruhr region, Germany's ‘rust belt’, Thorsten is influ-enced by the industrial landscapes of the past, disused mines and empty hangars with their rusty steel. His paintings are compositions in earthy colours, made from natural materials such as coal, ash, sand and plaster, which give his works a timeless and archaic aura. Thorsten lives near Bremen in northern Germany and is a well-known figure in the German art world.
