Thorsten Poersch studierte Kunst und Kunsttherapie in Bochum sowie Malerei an der Universität Dortmund und lebt in Bremen. Seine Werke sind stark von informeller Kunst und Materialkunst geprägt. Als Kind des Ruhrgebiets arbeitet er häufig mit ungewöhnlichen Materialien wie Kohle, Asche, Sand, Kalk, Papier und Pigmenten, wodurch seine Bilder eine raue, erdige Oberfläche und eine ausgeprägte Haptik erhalten. Thematisch beschäftigen sich seine Arbeiten mit Archaik, Vergänglichkeit und der Materialität von Dingen. Die vielschichtigen Strukturen seiner Bilder laden Betrachter dazu ein, sie langsam und meditativ zu erkunden und immer neue Details zu entdecken.
Thorsten Poersch studied art and art therapy in Bochum and painting at the University of Dortmund and lives in Bremen. His works are strongly influenced by informal art and material art. As a child of the Ruhr ares, Germany's rust belt, he often works with unusual materials such as coal, ash, sand, lime, paper and pigments, giving his paintings a rough, earthy surface and a distinctive feel. Thematically, his works deal with archaism, transience and the materiality of things. The multi-layered structures of his paintings invite viewers to explore them slowly and meditatively, discovering new details again and again.
Thorsten Poersch a étudié l'art et l'art-thérapie à Bochum ainsi que la peinture à l'université de Dortmund. Il vit à Brème. Ses œuvres sont fortement influencées par l'art informel et l'art matériel. Enfant de la Ruhr, il travaille souvent avec des matériaux inhabituels tels que le charbon, les cendres, le sable, la chaux, le papier et les pigments, ce qui confère à ses tableaux une surface rugueuse et terreuse et un toucher prononcé. Sur le plan thématique, ses œuvres traitent de l'archaïsme, de l'éphémère et de la matérialité des choses. Les structures complexes de ses tableaux invitent le spectateur à les explorer lentement et de manière méditative, à la découverte de détails toujours nouveaux.
