FLORIAN NÖRL
Florian Nörl is stubborn. This is also essential, as the "Original Textile Stone" was created without a model and combines the compositional and constructive method in its creation, in order to then fragment and reorganise the intermediate result. It takes a long time for a picture to tell its story.
The fact that Florian Nörl always presents us with conceptual art is also abundantly clear in the "Sedimental" series. He layers memory upon memory - like sediments in natural stone. In his very own dialectic, he leaves nothing to chance in order to allow precisely that: To show unpredictability, disturbances, influences, spontaneous or long-lasting, but also visible developments in life and nature. Florian Nörl challenges the viewers of his works. The meticulous demands he places on himself and his art seek his relationship with the viewer in the time it takes to discover even the smallest details and to trace the various moods. In hectic times, in a garish and noisy world driven by a lovable & digital insatiability that spews out so-called art every second, the artist resembles an atypical revolutionary and at the same time a modern stoic who calls not for struggle but for contemplation.
Florian Nörl was born in Bavaria and lives in Linz, Austria.
